October 20th, 2022. A very fine 5 x 50 Dominican robusto with a mild to medium body and a Cuban twang. I bought a boxes of three at Dubai airport and smoked them in France. I was impressed and bought a few more boxes of three on my return journey.
Appearance and Construction: Very finely made, well packed, slightly heavy in the hand. According to Neptune, the construction contains the following cocktail:
Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper
Indonesian binder
Dominican, Honduran and Colombian fillers
First Puff: Quite a pleasant, salty, burst of flavour
Draw and Burn: Draw and burn was excellent throughout; perhaps a little resistant, ma non troppo.
Flavour and Complexity: A very fine complexity resembling the Pinar del Rio Vegueros robusto
Body: Mild to medium
Strength: Nothing overwhelming.
Finish and Aftertaste: Good long finish and smooth aftertaste.
Aroma: Excellent sweet aroma. Very satisfying.
Ash: Around 20 minutes.
Balance and Consistency: Most of the samples I smoked had excellent consistency. One cigar lost flavour after the first inch for a few puffs, but full flavour soon returned.
Time smoke: Around 70 minutes
Overall: A very satisfying, well made, consistently delicious cigar.
November 14th, 2022: This one was quite mild, resembling a Connecticut wrapper. There was not much body or complexity. It lasted a good 70 minutes, but pleasant, at best.
